This site has many great resources for teachers, including engineering and STEM  projects that relate to the new standards.  They even are color coded like the standards!  (Don't know about the coloring coding?  Check out the link below!)

From Sarah Horky at Hidden Valley School.

"I have used (this website) to help implement STEM activities as well as support the science/math we are teaching in the classroom. The site has many lessons and interactive activities suited towards upper elementary to high school."

"There have been lessons relating to water and to transportation. The Water lesson asked "Will there be enough fresh water?"  I used this lesson to introduce fresh water on Earth.  It was a great discussion after our science unit on the watershed. We discussed fresh water availability and then related it to the collection of rain water from our water gauge at our school site."

Here are some resources, advise, and lesson from Josh Powell, Davidson Middle School
Lesson Plan
Video about the project
Paper Roller Coaster Parts
This website has several templates that you can choose from to create the parts they will use on this aqueduct.

Paper Roller Coaster Video
This video is a very inspirational video which I showed to my classes to get them excited about what they are going to be building.

Card Stock Paper
Card stock paper is needs to be bought in bulk to make it cost effective. Here is my source for card stock paper. But, I am by no means the best at shopping around. I do know as well that the weight of cardboard boxes such as cereal boxes is the same as what I use. The weight is important to make these structures stable enough to last through the different iterations of the project.
