Engage New York is a website with many resources for common core. I found a section of videos to help with CCSS math concepts with model lessons, games, and activities.
This article follows up on the discussion of the design process from our January professional development. They show the process through an design lesson on maglev trains where students create cars for a maglev track.
Molly O'Donoghue's 4th grade class spent time designing a prototype structure that Miwok's could have built using natural resources. They tested out their designs on an Earthquake shake table and re-designed based on those tests.
Eddie Gutierrez's 5th grade class experimented with parachutes in class. They all made a parachute to the same specifications. They used what they discovered to design a parachute that will carefully carry an egg safely to the ground. (see videos below)

This ties in very nicely with the parachute lesson from January. 3-5 grade teachers check it out!
