When we did this last year, the kids' ah-ha moment came after they noticed their dough was not cooking too quickly. They realized that many of their ovens reflected light and heat out away from the box, not down into the heart of the cooker. When we attempt this challenge this year, I think I'll have the kids diagram out how their panels direct solar energy and perhaps have them explain their plan to another group for feedback before construction begins.
